They (a contractor) hired a former police officer that got a masters degree in instructional design. He is great – smart and willing to learn. For some reason this is a rare combination.
Typically we get smart and smug or willing to learn and completely void of experience.
What a difference it makes to have the right combination in the workplace. I find myself suddenly inspired to mentor while at the same time becoming more smart and willing to learn myself.
