Learning to Lead

I am the oldest of many children. Eight to be exact. So, by mere birth order, I am a leader, manager, dictator, and whatever else falls into this destiny. Although I didn’t hold many leadership responsibilities outside of the family during my growing up years, the skills were there and growing. They just had to be exercised in environments outside of the walls of the home.

Now I am in a role where I am supposed to lead, but various situations and politics influence whether or not I will be effective in my role and how I progress through this internal development process.

Will I lead in future organizations? Will I go off on my own? Will I figure out how to inspire all the workers that so desperately want to be appreciated for their daily efforts? Or, will I resort to effectively investing in stock and forgot the day job? Who knows?
