In our green belt training we talked about a lot of “effects” and I remember that I disagreed with one that was brought up – the Hawthorne Effect.

Basically, it is about how most people have an increase in productivity when they are watched.
Ok, so I am just the opposite of this – I do not perform well when I’m watched. I perform worse because my attention is then focused on what the other person thinks of me.
So, perhaps they should re-define this definition a little bit. The entire class seemed to agree with it, but perhaps they were engaging in group think or were just too tired to address it after all of the issues they had discussed.
